Asian Ammerican Youth Against Tobbaco (A.A.Y.A.T) is a
statewide group of youth dedicated to activism and advocacy against
tobacco use. A.A.Y.A.T was initiated in November 2002 and
is a program of Asian Services In Action, Inc.
This statewide project is targeting the six counties in
Ohio with the largest Asian American populations: Cuyahoga, Franklin,
Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Summit.
The project includes implementation of the Asian American
Youth Against Tobacco Leadership Program, data collection in each
community, and parent education regarding environmental tobacco
smoke.
A.A.Y.A.T is about increasing awareness and reducing the
harmful effects of tobacco use through health education, disease
prevention and policy change.
Our mission:
- To train Asian American youth to be effective
leaders and to make a positive impact in their communities.
- To bring together Asian American youth to
present tobacco education to local Asian American and Pacific
Islander (AAPI) communities.
- To empower Asian American youth to be advocates
for their communities in the area of tobacco prevention.
Join A.A.Y.A.T and serve as your community ambassadors,
advocates and leaders against tobacco.
