What is the AAYAT Leadership Program?

  • The Asian American Youth Against Tobacco (AAYAT) Leadership Program is a one year internship available to high school students (grades 9-11).
     
  • The internship program teaches leadership and advocacy skills with a focus on tobacco prevention in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
     
  • Accepted interns will be required to attend one day summit at the beginning of the program (tentatively scheduled March 18-19, 2006)
     
  • Interns receive a monetary stipend for participation ($150 at the end of the program).
     
  • Interested applicants need to submit an application via mail.

       Completed applications must include the following:

    • Completed application form
    • Letter of reference from a non-family member
       
  • 40 interns will be selected statewide from AAYAT’s five target cities of Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton.
